On April 11, 2024, Axia Mineração participated in the territorial symposium held in Bom Jardim, Goiás, organized by Instituto Espinhaço, focusing on climate change impacts on forest restoration strategies.
The ‘Juntos pelo Araguaia’ project, initiated by Instituto Espinhaço, successfully concluded, focusing on revitalizing the Araguaia River Basin in Goiás and Mato Grosso.
“At the event, Axia Mineração SA showcased its mineral research in Bom Jardim, focusing on copper, crucial for energy transition. The company displayed samples and equipment used in local fieldwork, reaffirming its commitment to responsible mineral exploration, aligned with environmental regulations.
The symposium featured various local authorities, including the Mayor Willian Gregório and Municipal Environment Secretary Guedes Gonçalves de Souza. Additionally, participating in the debate were Goiás State Environment and Development Secretary Andrea Vulcanis and Luiz Claudio de Oliveira, president of the Espinhaço Institute
Event highlights included lectures by geographers and university professors from Goiás State University, Dr. Washington Sil Alves and MSc. Lucimar Marques da Costa, who discussed water’s importance in Goiás, identifying key regional issues based on Biomas Map data and ANNA’s Araguaia River basin information.
Children from the municipality actively participated, showing interest in the presentations and Axia Mineração’s efforts, promoting environmental consciousness and sparking new visions.
