Geology Students from UFG Conduct Technical Visit to the Bom Jardim Project and Strengthen Partnership with Axia

On May 12 and 13, 2025, geology students from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) carried out a technical visit to the Bom Jardim Project as part of the practical activities for the Economic Geology and Mineral Exploration Techniques courses.

The visit is part of the fieldwork course in the eighth semester of the undergraduate program, aimed at students in the final phase of their studies. The main objective was to provide a hands-on experience, bringing students closer to the realities of the job market and the activities performed by geologists in mineral exploration projects.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn in detail about the operations at the Bom Jardim Project, with highlights including the presentation of drill cores, a visit to active drilling operations, and technical discussions on the area’s mineralogy. The activity was guided by professors Dr. Estela Leal, Dr. Lincoln Siepierski, and Dr. José Araújo, who contributed with technical analyses and insights throughout the program.

In addition to providing a valuable experience for the students, the visit also represented an exchange of knowledge between academia and the productive sector. The observations and discussions led by the professors and students contributed to the technical improvement of the project, strengthening the partnership between UFG and Axia and fostering the joint development of scientific knowledge applied to mineral exploration.
