We have 2 REE projects in Brazil
READ MORE
The group of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) consists of 15 elements: lanthanides, yttrium, and scandium, categorized into:
- Light (LREE): Lanthanum, Cerium, Praseodymium, Neodymium and Scandium;
- Medium (MREE): Samarium, Europium and Gadolinium; and,
- Heavy (HREE): Terbium, Dysprosium, Holmium, Erbium, Thulium, Ytterbium, Lutetium and Yttrium.
Rare Earth Elements are crucial for technological advancements and energy transition, underpinning various industries, including electronics, renewable energy, automotive and aerospace.
Rare Earth Elements (REEs) are primarily associated with carbonatitic, alkaline and granitic intrusions. Key minerals include xenotime, allanite, monazite and bastnaesite.
HREEs are concentrated in granitic and pegmatitic rocks through magmatic fractionation and metamorphism, with additional enrichment in sedimentary contexts.
Additional concentration processes occur in sedimentary contexts, through mechanical fragmentation and re-concentration of resistant minerals in placer environments or weathering profiles, where REEs are adsorbed onto clay minerals, forming ionic clays.
