ESG Policy
AXIA Resources operates in mineral research and exploration with a commitment that is not ancillary to the business: wealth generation is legitimate only when accompanied by environmental responsibility, respect for people and communities, and governance that withstands scrutiny. This policy organizes that commitment into three dimensions, with verifiable practices and monitored indicators.
Environmental
Licensing kept up to date, waste control, rational use of resources, tested emergency response and rehabilitation of the areas used.
Social
Safety and health of those who work with us, people development, community relations and support for science.
Governance
Clear decision-making structure, integrity, data protection, transparency with stakeholders and an auditable management system.
Environmental dimension
We operate in an activity that interacts directly with the physical environment. Our environmental management system is structured in accordance with ABNT NBR ISO 14001:2015 and starts from a simple principle: an impact that is not identified is not managed.
Commitments undertaken
| Commitment | How we fulfill it |
|---|---|
| Identify and control aspects and impacts | A survey covering routine and non-routine activities and emergency situations, with a documented significance criterion. Every significant aspect has a defined operational control. |
| Comply with environmental legislation | Legal requirements matrix with an assigned owner per obligation, periodic evaluation of compliance and control of the validity of licenses and license conditions. |
| Dispose of waste correctly | Segregation at source, proper storage and disposal exclusively to a licensed receiver, with a manifest or certificate proving the final destination. |
| Use resources rationally | Monthly monitoring of energy, water and fuels, with a historical series, intensity per employee and per kilometer driven, and reduction targets against a measured baseline. |
| Control chemical products | Inventory with Safety Data Sheets (FISPQ) accessible at points of use, proper storage and a containment kit available for spill response. |
| Be prepared for emergencies | Scenarios identified, response planned and drills carried out and evaluated within the cycle — including combined environmental and occupational safety scenarios. |
| Rehabilitate the areas used | Register of areas and any liabilities, with a rehabilitation and demobilization plan at the end of each campaign. |
| Extend requirements to the supply chain | Environmental requirements in contracts and sustainability criteria in purchasing, with a life-cycle perspective. |
Climate change in our context
Extreme weather events — heavy rainfall, heat and drought — affect travel, field fronts and facilities. For this reason, climate risk is formally addressed in the risk assessment, with a contingency plan and an objective criterion for suspending field activities.
Governance dimension
Governance, for us, is not an organizational chart: it is the ability to demonstrate, with evidence, that a decision was made by those with the authority to make it, with adequate information and with a traceable record.
Structure and decision-making
- Roles, responsibilities and approval authorities defined and published
- Multidisciplinary Committee supported by an independent external specialist
- Periodic management review by the Board of Directors, with decisions recorded in minutes
- Segregation between those who request, approve and execute payments
Integrity
- Zero tolerance for bribery and corruption
- Risk-proportionate due diligence of partners
- Reporting channel with anonymity and non-retaliation
- Compliance function with direct access to the Board of Directors
Information and privacy
- Data protection officer designated and published
- Information classification and access control based on least privilege
- Backup with periodic restoration testing
- Incident response with notification to the data subject and to the ANPD (Brazilian National Data Protection Authority) when required
Transparency
- Institutional policies made public in this section of the website
- Official channels identified and monitored
- Communication with shareholders, employees, suppliers and communities
- Management system documentation versioned and auditable
How we monitor
A commitment without measurement is an intention. ESG topics are monitored through indicators measured monthly, analyzed for trends and submitted to management review by the Board of Directors. A result below target opens an action with an assigned owner, a deadline and verification of effectiveness before closure.
| Dimension | Indicator monitored | Target |
|---|---|---|
| Environmental | Waste with disposal proven by a licensed receiver | 100% |
| Environmental | License conditions met on time | 100% |
| Environmental | Monitoring carried out at the required frequency | 100% |
| Environmental | Reduction in energy and water consumption against the baseline | 5% per year |
| Social | Lost-time accidents | Zero |
| Social | Critical activities with risk analysis and work permit | 100% |
| Social | Occupational medical examinations within validity | 100% |
| Social | Safety onboarding completed before access to the work front | 100% |
| Governance | Relevant-risk partners with due diligence completed | 100% |
| Governance | Integrity reports handled within the defined time frame | ≥ 90% |
| Governance | Data subject requests answered within the legal time frame | 100% |
| Governance | Legal obligations evaluated with evidence | 100% |
